Bristol Women’s Voice is a powerful voice for women living, working or volunteering in Bristol. Our aim is to ensure that women’s concerns are heard by decision-makers and acted on. We also work with women in the community, supporting them to take action on the issues that matter to them.
We are recruiting up to three trustees to join our active board. We are particularly looking for women with legal, finance, HR, corporate fundraising, policy and influencing experience. We are also looking for lived experience of discrimination and/or marginalisation.
As a Trustee, you will
- Attend bi-monthly evening board meetings;
- Attend a subgroup aligned with your experience, e.g. finance and risk, people and culture, membership and governance or fundraising and communication;
- Oversee the governance, performance and delivery of the charity;
- Play an active role in supporting the charity’s work through providing advice and guidance, supporting ad hoc pieces of work, being a champion for the organisation etc.
Trustees are required to be members of Bristol Women’s Voice. You can join Bristol Women’s Voice membership for free here: https://www.bristolwomensvoice.org.uk/become-a-member/
A commitment to anti-racist and feminist principles, and passion for making a difference are critical, as well as leadership potential and willingness to work within governance structures.
These roles are unpaid, but we offer training and personal development, as well as the opportunity to contribute as part of an inspiring group of women. All out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
To apply please send a video (on your phone is fine) or written statement outlining:
- Why you want to be a Trustee
- What you think you will bring to the role and any relevant experience.
