This project is about uniting women across generations and cultures to build stronger, more resilient communities.
By creating space for intergenerational and intercultural connections, we aim to bridge divides, recognising the power of shared experience and collective action. We aim to create opportunities for women to work together for change, learning from each other and shaping the future of our communities.
Project aims:
- Strengthen connections between women of all ages and backgrounds.
- Foster understanding through shared storytelling, skill-sharing, and open conversations.
- Raise awareness of the challenges women face due to patriarchal norms – including issues like poverty, safety, and inequality.
- Support action for change on the issues that matter most to women in Bristol.
Who is this for?
This project is for women of all ages who want to feel:
- Less isolated
- More connected
- Part of a community of like-minded individuals
We’re especially focused on reaching women who may feel excluded or unheard – and creating spaces where everyone’s voice matters.
What to expect?
Our programme will be shaped by women’s ideas and interests, and will include:
- Intergenerational storytelling and skill-sharing
- Celebrations of Bristol’s feminist history, including films, talks, and events
- Workshops and presentations led by community members
- Creative activities, such as craftivism, collaborative art, and social action projects
Women have already told us what they want to see – from documentaries about feminist movements to storytelling about second-wave feminists and opportunities to lead sessions themselves. We’re listening and acting on these ideas.
This project is about building strength through solidarity, ensuring women can speak out on the issues that matter – whether it’s the gendered nature of poverty or the right to feel safe in public spaces.
