Bristol Women’s Voice is creating a deck of Women Activist Cards to celebrate lesser-known women activists from Bristol who fought for equality and justice, and we would love your help to find them!
We’re looking for suggestions of women activists who:
- Are no longer living
- From underrepresented groups (e.g., women of colour, disabled women, LGBTQI+ women, working-class women)
- Had a connection to Bristol whether they lived, worked, campaigned, or made a lasting impact here
Their activism could be in any area, including education, health, workers’ rights, racial justice, community building, arts, and more!
We’re aiming to feature 45 remarkable women—so whether it’s your great-grandmother, a neighbour, a colleague or someone who inspired changed around them and is no longer with us, we’d love to hear their story.
What do we mean by “activist”?
Any woman who took action—big or small—to push for social or political change, whether locally, regionally, or nationally.
How to nominate?
If you have someone in mind, please fill in this short survey: https://forms.office.com/e/VAwWBEmZiN or email us directly at info@bristolwomensvoice.org.uk.
Let’s celebrate the women whose stories deserve to be remembered!
