Open Letter for 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence 2023

Bristol Women’s Voice has joined Bristol Women’s Commission and partners in calling on all organisations, communities and individuals in the City to take action to tackle a growing epidemic of male violence that impacts women and girls as part of the #16Days campaign.

An open letter (see below), signed by Bristol Women’s Commission Chair Penny Gane and another 14 signatories from universities and colleges, the police, council and women’s organisations including Bristol Women’s Voice calls upon everyone to play their part in stopping gender-based violence.

The letter, sent during this year’s UN 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (25 November – 10 December) also urges Bristol’s media to give male violence and the efforts to prevent it suitable coverage and has been sent to editors.
